Not to me.
I shoot traditional flintlocks for muzzleloading. I don't consider a modern conical bullet shooting, pellet propellant, metallic primer fired, scope mounted muzzleloader proper for the special season, and impractical in regular season.
But that's just me.
I make my own wood arrows and don't have sights or elevated rests on my hunting recurves for bow season, either. I like a little challenge.

Current price for a Savage ML runs from $600.00 used to over $1000.00 NIB, as of today 12-8-2018. Blue or SS, condition of the rifle and to some extent the time of the year. This is a rifle that because of high demand and non availability sells well AFTER deer season. Good luck on the hunt.
