It has happened before. This is a 10 twist so it should load the heavier stuff no problem. Seems like you would want a little more room in the throat.
I just blundered into a Cabela's 10t-sr for the right price of $350 new. Loading up ammo for it I found the bolt won't close on a 2.800 OAL 180 Sierra bullet, same goes for a 169 Horn Match or a federal Fusion 180. They have to be seated OAL 2.750 for the bolt to rotate easy and no marks left on the bullet. Is this common for the Savage target barrel to have a short throat?
