PICTURES WILL BE FORTHCOMING!!
Purchased what I though to be a Savage 1907 pistol. (Cal .32)
Pistol has the straight back frame and grips of a 1907.
Yet it has the slide (small serrations) and 'cocking lever' of a 1917.
Does not have a grip safety, which I believe was only on the 1915.
What do I have??
Nice looking Savage!
You have a later production 1907 .32
The factory changed the cocking serrations and redesigned the hammer on the later pistols.
What's the serial#? I can look up the approximate production date.
1919 I have been told.
Yes, 1919.

It's got the optional wide hammer as well, nice!

The fine serrations on the slide are an indicator it's a later model at a quick glance.

I have the twin brother to yours serial# 223160. I found this one online at Cabela's about a year-and-a-half ago, I was amazed at the Quality of the pistol it must have said in a drawer for close to a hundred years doesn't even look like it's ever been fired. I believe the Cabela's was located in Arizona, a lot of top quality pistols are found in Arizona and Texas.
