Mine works fine, I'm still in load development but it shows promise.

I ordered the LVT black on black on black with cheek rest end cut out, that one loooks good , if your shooting .223 or .308 try 25 gr of varget 69 gr SMK on 223 .10 from lands if 308 try 42 gr varget .10 from lands with 168 or 175 SMK.
Did you guys bed yours in fiberglass
frank,i orderd the same stock as yours on may 21
was told it take about 3 weeks i can only hope
they told me 8 to 10 wks
Mine's bedded.
Mine also took a lot longer than normal because it is a left handed J action with the detachable magazine, pushbutton that goes through the side of the stock. Fred had to do a bunch of hand work to get it fitted.

I just called today and they were saying 10 week. That's too long as it is - 18 weeks is crazy! Not sure I can wait that long but I might as well put an order in now in case I can't find anything else for my fcp-k...
Crap, I was really hoping this time some one would actually make their time estimate. I was told 10-12 when I ordered in Mar. 12 weeks just passed. From every thing I have heard this one will be worth the wait!
I ordered a stock in Late October.
It arrived about 3 weeks ago.
Still waiting at 14 weeks.

this is not good news, guess i better prepare for a wait
I forget the ladie's name, but I placed my order yesterday and asked about the wait and the 17-18 week claims. She couldn't explain the 18 week stuff, but she did say they were turning down ALL gunsmithing orders through june and July. This is GOOD NEWS for those of us that are waiting on stocks!!! She said that gunsmithing has been taking up a good bit of Fred's time as it was, but what really got him behind was that a guy would put in an order fore something like some action work, but would end up adding on, and on, and on, to the point that it became a full custom build.
For a one man show, the wait isn't bad, and I have heard nothing but praise as far as quality goes. She still estimated 10-11 weeks for me.
I got the LVT with adjustable comb, butthook, and accessory rail for my Savage FCP-k. Can't wait. But in the meantime, I also ordered a Choate tactical custom stock to tide me over...I have two FCP-k's so I'll put'em both to good use.
Ordered mine on 2/1 with a quoted delivery of "at least 8 weeks". They didn't lie it's now 19 weeks and counting. Buyer beware!
Here is a picture of mine. I've had it for three years. Very nice stock and looks better in real than in the picture.

Hey, welcome to the forum. Nice to see you started off on a good note ::)Originally Posted by hawksnest
And "buyer beware" ???....Sounds like you should just cancel the order. Ill tell you that waiting for the stock will be forgotten once you have it in your hands and see the quality of their work.

bodywerks, you are correct. They arent taking any orders for those 2 mnths to get caught up on the backlog of work they have. Alot of their backlog is due to their suppliers not getting them the supplies in time to make their deadline. I actually just got put on their "time and true" list and they were taking orders for August(skipping june and july).
Lisa also said that they are working toward having blanks in stock so they dont have to wait for it to get to them, which means a barrel may only be a couple weeks wait before long. That would be very sweet.

I ordered an LVT in black black blue just over 11 weeks ago, and was told 8 weeks. I emailed Lisa last week to check on the status and was told that the final inletting was being done on all March orders, so hopefully in another couple of weeks or so I will have it! I'm in no rush though as my Shilen barrel isn't going to be here till sometime in July. I don't hold it against SSS for being late, they obviously do amazing work, if they didn't they wouldn't be so busy. Plus I think Fred is a bit of a perfectionist, which is also a + ;D
They feel heavy and sturdy and track very well... You'll like it.
I ordered mine in about 9 weeks ago, but I find myself in the same situation as you. Having to wait for Shilen Select Match barrel in 7mm for my .284 project will take me all the way to the end of July. Therefore, I'm fine with the wait for the quality workmanship.Originally Posted by TT3270WSM
