Because I have to carry it in and out of canyon's here in AZ.It will have a brake on it.
Bell & Carlson Duramaxx or Carbelite is worth looking at for what you're wanting to do. Just finished a 26" 338 WM build for a friend w/ a heavy sporter contour barrel that turned out to be lighter than expected. I didn't get a weight on it, but I would say it was lighter than 10 lbs w/ scope and bedding. Considering the price of these( under $150), they're worth trying.
This is a great stock for sporter type setups. A little heavier than the factory synthetics, but has the aluminum bedding block and nice recoil pad.
Awsome stock.

I don't work for Stocky, this is just the best link I know of for this stock.
McMillan Savage Classic with Edge technology.
Your Edge would be in an Edge.
MacMillan Edge is nice but to pricey.
+1 The factory stock is ony a few ounces heavier than the McMillan Edge, and costs a fraction of the price.Originally Posted by geargrinder
