It sounds like you got your new toy shooting pretty good nice going.
After putting the first rounds through my 6x45 Savage build Sunday to sight it in and getting nice, small groups I went out to one of the ranches I shoot on and layed out a little over 100 p-dogs today.
All I can say is WOW.
My build is nothing to write home about as its just a 1986 Savage FP10, was .223, now 6x45, new McGowan 24" ss select bbl., 20yr old BSA platnum 6-24x44 target scope, plastic stock, fat lug & large bolt.
The McGowan bbl is better than I actually expected BUT hoped it would be.
All were taken with the 65g vmax with AA2015 behind it, just a tad over 3000 fps. Accurate as it should be. I can also say it will pop a p-dog to 450 yards & it does not wind drift like my .223 using a 50g vmax at 3400 FPS. Wind was steady at 15-17 mph. I shot with it or into it mostly today.
I built it just for coyotes and Antelope and had to get it out and run it steady on the p-dogs for a good break in.
Lots of ready to eat coyote food left today. I did hear 3 down in the creek bottom area, but again..did not see them. I will bid my time on them.
It sounds like you got your new toy shooting pretty good nice going.
