If it came from the factory as a 243 , then it's a small shank. The reason you see large shank barrels advertised is for people who bought large shank actions and want to change them to other cartridges. I have a large shank gun that was originally a 300WSM and I bought a large shanked 22.250 aftermarket barrel for it.

What would a model 110 long action 30-06 be, large or small shank?

Your 30-06 and the first persons 243 should be a small shank. To be certain just measure the length of the barrel nut. If the barrel nut is 5/8" long it is a Large Shank. If the barrel nut is 7/8" long it is a small shank. Be sure you are measuring the barrel nut only. Several customers have measured from the front of the receiver and then they are including the recoil lug thickness as well.
