    Has anybody A.I.'d an Edge?

I know of two guys that wildcatted a 338 Edge. IE; improved the case.

For my short barreled applications it would be a waste of time and money. For 50-100 fps maybe increase in velocity with a long barreled rifle it may have a benefit to someone.

There's already only 0.025" of case taper so the gain there is marginal. The shoulder angle is already 30 deg so going to a normal Ackley style 40deg shoulder would gain a very small amount of capacity. I don't have Edge loading data in front of me, but looking at both the .300 and .338 RUM, you need about 3.5gns of additional powder for each 100fps. I'm not sure that the lsight increase in shoulder angle would give you that much capacity increase or at what point you'd hit seriously diminishing returns.

I you want to go full on insane, start off with a .378 Weatherby case which has about a 10gn advantage in capacity, set a steep shoulder angle and a minimal neck length. Stoke it with some really slow powder and install a massive brake.
