Medalist suitable for a walking/hunting rig?

I am going to pick up one of the 7-08 Stevens 200's on sale at academy and want to immeditaely restock it. This will primarily be a hunting set-up with some needed practice time at the range. While most of my hunting will be in blinds, I would like to do some spot-n-stalk hunting. Does anyone use the Medalist for a hunting rifle? How is the weight factor?

Oh, and I guess I am primarily interested in the A2 though may be talked into the sporter model.

    Thanks.

The A2 is not very wieldy. Uncomfortable to shoot off-hand. Not light either.

I just got this stock and I'm going to say it's going to be to heavy and uncomfortable to carry much. It's a nice stock but not something I want to be walking around with much.

From the tailgate to the bench. That's about as far as I enjoy carrying mine.
