Just picked up a new Model 10 in 243 and was surprised to see the bolt release in the trigger housing and the barrel nut is smooth. How do you remove this new type nut??

pipe wrench is cheaper and you will get it sooner. You can still use the smooth one but I just replace it with the old style.
Thank's guys!!!

Pipe wrench then replace the smooth nut with a nut that uses the grooved wrench. That is if you already have the grooved wrench. You can buy several grooved nuts for the cost of a new wrench.

Drill a hole in the bottom and use a spanner wrench, I think that's what it's called, has a stud and a joint in the middle of the wrench, the part with the stud is rounded..
Just don't drill into the threads.
