Scope mount and rings help

I have my Savage 10 Precision Carbine in .308 and a Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 FFP ordered. Now I need a scope mount and rings. From another site, they recommended EGW scope mounts and Burris XTR rings. If I go with the EGW 20MOA scope mount, what height Burris XTR rings should I get?

Of course, if you have other recommendations on scope mount and rings, that is welcome too.

BTW, this is my first post here. Can't wait to get this all put together and shoot it!

Don't have the XTR rings, but I do have an EGW base and a 50mm scope on my 111 with medium Signature Zee rings. Clearance is about perfect, just enough room to get the scope covers on and off. I have a set of medium Super Sniper rings going on an EGW 20MOA base to mount a Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x50 on a Model 10 when my new stock arrives. IMO, unless you plan to beat the crap out of the rifle, Burris Signature rings are the way to go. If you MUST have tactical rings, the Super Sniper rings are a great bargain and very similar to the Burris XTR.

I've 30mm medium Signature Zee's in bound to mount my Elite 4200 6-24X50 on a EGW 0 MOA base. This is for a 12 VLP. I think the EGW might be overkill for my uses, but looks rock solid. Signature rings seem to be the way to go.

Take note of the "blind" sling swivel so the stock will slide on the rear bag smoothly.

I've got the 10PC in .308 with a Bushnell Elite 4200 Tactical 3-12x44 FFP scope. I originally mounted it on an EGW HD Low 20MOA base with TPS TSR "low" rings. I got a pair of Seekins "medium" rings yesterday (best rings EVER, and the "medium" is actually a bit lower than TPS' "low") and remounted the scope today (same base). It fits perfectly.
