Welcome to the site.
Don't worry about the older 11's they are still good guns and just about every part will interchange with the newer guns. The guns was made during a dark time for Savage, and some of the machining left a bit to desire. But that doesn't mean that they shoot any worse than other Savage.
The older guns have the highly desirable 3 screw triggers in them, and many people replace there newer pre-accu trigger(And Stevens 200) triggers with them. The older guns use a three piece sear, which had the tendency to come apart, the newer sears drop right in. The bolts, and the rest of the parts are the same. (With slight differences, throughtout model years, Example Savage changed firing pin diameter latter on in production.)
I have a 110 built in 1989, (Considered one of the worse year for a Savage) and the gun is a shooter. This gun will shoot competitively with many top end custom action guns. No problem.
