Got to fondle this beauty today for a bit while waiting on my background check for another gun to clear. Has some obvious handling dings in the wood, but otherwise looks to be in fairly good shape. The odd checkering pattern on the grip makes me question if the stock is original as I've never seen that pattern before, but given the engraving maybe this was a special high grade pattern only used on such guns. Tag listed it as a Model 1899 with "D" engraving chambered in .250-3000 Savage. Unfortunately the $15k price tag was a little out of my budget.
