I pulled the tang sight on a Savage 1899 rifle to adjust left to right as I was getting groups 3” to the left. A sliver of business card under the left side of the sight means I’m now spot on left to right.

I am fairly certain this sight is original to this rifle, the rifle dating from 1907.
Under the sight was stamped ‘SA’. I had thought ‘S1’ was stamped on the underside of Savage 1899 tang sights. What’s the difference? Are Marbles sights stamped ‘S1’ and Lyman sights stamped ‘SA’?

A factory letter is forthcoming. (They are on sale now). Would a factory letter note a tang sight or not if factory original?
