If I remember right it is a Douglas Barrel.
    Forget what break Chris used.

I did want a Franken Ruger. Just never acquired the doner.
Have an XP that needs a barrel, that is easier to find a good smith to do.

I would love to have one of Chris' Franken Rugers, it's too bad he closed up shop but I understand completely and wish him well on his retirement.
It's better to shoot for the moon and hit the fencepost than to shoot for the fencepost and hit the ground!

Be nice if someone could take him up on his offer to Teach them how to do them. Imagine a few that would be good at it are booked out and do not have the time or need for another gun to build

I was with him when he built this one. He let me do some of the finish on the barrel. I went to his place a lot when he lived in Va.

Stopped once to see his shop and meet him there, Found the other shop one day when on a scenic drive but did not stop to bother him. Both were in nice locations.

I had a 357/44 Contender octagon barrel. It was one hard kicking set up. In sighting it in the POI kept wandering compared to the scope picture. I would adjust it and shoot again. On the las t shot of the sight in session I shot and felt a significant pain in my forehead. I looked at the barrel, I thought it had exploded, and I found the top of the barrel to be clean, scope and base were absent! The recoil had sheared all of the scope base screws and bounced the scope and base off my head! The scope and base were 6 feet behind me, and the barrel went to the for-sale column!
