I've had that same exact problem with Marlin 30-30's and Savage 24V's in .222/20ga. I've owned 4 of each over the last 25 years. No 24V in the safe right now, but still have a Marlin tucked away.

My problem with having so many different barrels in so many calibers was not enough hours in the day to shoot. Sure was fun showing them off though.

Contender 357 max, firearms deer season, yesterday grabbed the encore 257 ackley. This morning it’s the XP in 260 Rem. 25 degrees sitting in a tree waiting on a doe, life is good 😊

Good I don't have Encores or I would be looking for a new barrel. LOL I do have a rifle in .257AI that I like a lot.

I'm waiting for alternative season, I still have my any deer tag!
It's better to shoot for the moon and hit the fencepost than to shoot for the fencepost and hit the ground!

I have a 257 AI in both encore rifle and a recently acquired pistol barrel. The rifle performed well with a Nosler partition earlier in the season. Want to see what the pistol barrel will do.

No sightings today. It gets tough around here after regular gun season. Takes awhile for them to settle down

357 max is fine caliber in contenders and have killed a few deer with mine.
