Yes. Long or Short Action. Center or Stager feed. If it’s Single shot 112 the problem is it has no opening for the magazine. It can be killed in, but the feed lip needs to be machined correctly. Not the easiest of tasks.
Buddy has a solid action 110, not sure how old it is.
Is there different specs for 110 over the years.

"probably 16 people would fight over trading you what you want for that action". This is FACT!!
Solid bottom actions are stronger than repeater actions.
All mine are either single shot from the factory of modified with followers.
Oz never gave nothing to the Tin Man, that he didn't already have.
Please do not alter it if it is 5 1/8 between the screws. It would just become another $175 Savage LA. Put it in the Classified and let the bidding begin.
Indeed they are. Just as the closed or shrouded port Actions are stronger. However, any accuracy benefit this might serve, afforded to the average shooter is beyond me.
Shootz Did your friend decide to sell or butcher the action. I would be interested if the price is right.

I've got one of those single shot long actions on my heavy barrel (Shilen) 308 I built about 6 years ago. Has a 3 screw trigger I tweeked. No way I would ever part with it.

in vegas till 1/2. I'll find out then. I asked him to measure the screw spacing
My buddy is a PITA, now he says it's a compete rifle, heavy barrel 308 with a Lyman target scope. I'll believe it when I see it.
Sounds like it's not possible to buy old style bottom metal. Does anyone sell aftermarket bottom metal trigger guards with a box or magazine?
If it is a true long action single shot 110 (5 1/8 between the screws), there is no bottom metal just a trigger guard. the bottom of the action will be solid but will fit in a LA stagger feed stock. Lyman target scope has to be a add on and may be more valuable than the action, but I would take a long look at how it is mounted. Might have a aftermarket barrel too. The last one I bought had a abomination for a trigger, a jury rigged 3 screw I had to replace. Paid way too much for it! But I am a sucker!
Why bastardize a perfectly good action, and a hard to find one at that? Plenty of reasonably priced rifles on the shelves and in classifieds. Maybe break even on a sale/trade.
I don't own old rifles anymore, but I sure wish I had the last factory single shot I sold in 2010, I made a stupid mistake.
