How to determine scope rail MOA

Have a Savage Axis II with 22" heavy barrel in 350Legend (yep, I'm in southern Michigan) which came with 2-piece scope mount and Bushnell scope. Love the rifle, mounts & scope not so much.

Hawke 2.5-10x50 illuminated scope (30mm tube) ordered and on its way.

Factory rings are low height. Presuming I'll need medium height with Hawke 50mm objective. I've used UTG aluminum rings on other rifles & shotguns for years without fail, and will rely on UTG again for this project.

Hunting will be 150-250 yards, never over 300 yards.

Does this call for standard flat (0 MOA) rail, or should I already anticipate 20 MOA?
Anybody have any single piece picatinny favorites for the Axis II ?

I'd use a flat. I have only needed a 'ramped' rail if shooting much longer ranges, even with 'slow' cast bullets.

I agree with Charlie. A 0 MOA rail will suit your needs. EGW makes a good one-piece Picatinny rail. I've also used the Weaver 48347 is cheaper, but I don't remember if the profile is compatible with Picatinny rings.

Thanks. EGW 41800 is what I was thinking, but was looking for confirmation.

I just put the Weaver rail on my Axis. Has worked well.

Problem I experienced once before was Weaver rail & picatinny rings, or vice versa. Even though they "should be" compatible with each other, it didn't work out for that particular pairing. Ever since that occurred 3 or 4 or 5 rifles ago, I purchase picatinny on both sides to avoid a repeat.
