    Older Savage model 12 FVSS.

Seeing that I am digging some old Savages out of the back of the safe, I thought it might be fun to see if they still shoot. Did the model 10s earlier and now my favorite from that time period. Stock trigger. Scope is a Leupold VX-III 8.5 - 25. Nothing really fancy, but a hoot to shoot.
Model 12 FVSS from the 90s. .223 Load is Berger 55 gn FB Match Varminters over 24.5 gn of IMR-8208. Thanks Nez for the powder suggestion. 1 10 dot target shot for practice with a couple of misses and fixed with a follow up. Then shot a few 10 rnd groups at 100yds just for fun. Whatta Hobby!

Had a ball today shooting AR-500 prairie dogs at 150 yds. Used up the last of a 50 rnd range box of ammo at 100 yds. 15 rnds in 7/8" ain't too shabby for this old club.

Added and ITC wet suit cheek riser and a new load. I think I am getting closer for an old guy. I think this would be a true one holer if shot with bags off a bench, but my bipod method is good enough for fun off my old three legged portable bench. Whatta Hobby!
