Hey everybody, I have recently found a new interest in my dad's old model 99. I'm going to research the serial number and see exactly what it is. I know it's a 30-30 with a straight stock. The barrel measured 19 inches from top to receive. Still in excellent working condition. I will post a thread when I have more info.

Using the date finder I found out my 99 was made in 1925. It has a curved butt plate and definitely not walnut stock. It also has a Wing tang sight. Is the sight aftermarket or did it come with it. Also, does the deeply curved butt designate a certain model? Any help would be appreciated.
