    Hey thanks so much for info. It really is in good shape for what its ben through. Looking forward to sending some lead downrange soon. For sure going to use it next deer season.

    I’m sure it passed thru many hands in the last 47 years, so even more remarkable it has so few dings and scratches!
    Also noticed it has no sling swivels . . . .and I hope you refrain from installing same.
    When hunting with my “swiveless” Winchester M92, I installed a strip of leather under the buttplate (captured with the lower buttplate screw) on one end, and wrapped a piece of rawhide around the barrel in front of the forend, then riveted the other end of the strip to the rawhide loop, to sling the rifle while carrying thru the woods.
    Worked out just fine, . . . .kept hands free to push twigs, brush, etc., aside . . .and kept the rifle ORIGINAL!
