Typically Cabelas has a sale around Black Friday, which will probably be more of an online event this year. No telling if there will be rebates, but you can always hope. Buying gift cards online can net more saving in case a good sale materializes. Looks like Academy's sale has ended, but Axis prices aren't too terrible. Have you checked your local pawn shops?
Banning a gun will not solve what is a mental health crisis inflamed by incendiary rhetoric on social and television media. The first amendment in this case is less precious and more likely the causal factor than the second amendment.
