    223 OAL for 110 DBM's ?

IF you have a Savage with a DBM what is the longest you can load a bullet ?
Yes I know 2.60 is the length required to function through AR magazines

Every barrel will likely be slightly different.. probably should use one of the different methods to figure out what yours is.

That was not the question, I can load my AR's single shot and shoot a lot longer 223 loaded rounds than would fit in an AR Mag.
To make this simple, in a Savage 223 DBM, can you load 223 rounds that have a total length longer than the standard 2.260" ??

Thats what im getting at sir, you would have to get your distance to lands to be able to know what oal yours can actually handle.. for instance one of my 5.56 I can go almost 7/100th over what magazine will accept and my 223 wylde only give about 50 thou to play with

My Axis mag looks like it will load ~2.42-2.43"...I assume it would be the same for a 110. I have a Wylde barrel on my AICS converted 12FV in .223 and the MDT mag lets me go 2.5+". 80gr ELD-Ms hit the lands at 2.52" so I use every bit of it.

Don't know how long will fit my Axis DBM but my 77gn SMK loads are at 2.28". There looks to be about 0.1" or maybe a little more when they are in the magazine. The bullets are about .020" from the lands so I can't make the cartridge much longer anyway.

THAT was the answer I was looking for, strictly Max OAL that can will fit in a Mag. Throating reamers or a new Bbl. chambered to accommodate the desired OAL.

Not sure this is relevant. I don’t reload so I also know I’m speaking with next to no experience. But a friend of mine loads an empty shell with bullet long long. Single loads it and uses the bolt and chamber to push the bullet into the casing. Then he removes the cartridge and takes a measurement. Then works the numbers off the lands or creates the jump from the rifling depending on range results.
    Hopefully that came out right.
    Cheers

After a quick scan of my load records, my Savage 12 FV with the factory stock and hidden mag let me load with O.A.L. past 2.356.
The hidden mag box is the same size as the Savage detachable mag box box.
The only difference is the base of the mag is the stock instead of the mag base.
I never had a seating depth that would not fit in the mag, so I can't give you an absolute limit, only what I loaded without problems.

Measure the mag and you will know the Overall length it will accept.

You still have to figure out whether your barrel will take that length depending on the bullets you intend to use.
The longest length O.A.L. I used was with 77 grain Sierra TMKs.
And yes my 1:9 twist 12 FV shot them better than any other weight even though the 77 grain bullets aren't supposed to stabilize in a 1:9 twist.

    THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX
This info is for a NEW BUILD,with a new Bbl. the limiting factor is not the chamber because I can send "dummy rounds" with what ever bullets I want to shoot, and have the Bbl. chambered and a twist needed, but they have to fit in a DBM.
