Yeah. That sounds ridiculous. I'd think a simple cleaning and wipe down would suffice.

Sharpshooter -Your attitude is why OVER 100000people have DIED !! You must have voted for that FOOL in DC. The scouts should be following the CDC Guidelines, using Alcohol or Sanitizer or 1hour of sunlight to reduce chances of transmission!! AND AVOID Exposure to FOX NEWS !!
Alcohol as I understand it is the best on surfaces. Finding it is
easy. It's said you should have about 70% purity. Isopropyl can
be found as a gasoline additive for cold weather, although a
typical rip off since most our gasoline's are 10% ethanol. And
speaking of ethanol, yes it's just as good. Can be found at any
liquor store. Good o'l Moonshine !! And then there's methanol.
Most race shops carry it.

I would stay away from bleach if you can. Bleach and metal don't always get along. Isopropyl alcohol above 70% would be optimal, as you could use it in a spray bottle and any that you can't get wiped off will evaporate. Be cautious since it is a flammable liquid. Follow up with a light oil wipe down of metal surfaces.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is!
