    Winchester’s walnut


    Winchester has been putting some very nice walnut on there stocks recently. Has me tempted for another one.

    From what I understand there are "new" markets of walnut from New Zealand and Turkey that are producing some fabulous old trees/boards. And the modern synthetics have lowered the demand so the blank prices have dropped some.

    Yep it is hard to beat a fine fiquerd piece of crotch walnut. Origianl Savage 430 O/U from 1937.
