    Made in 1989. That's all the info a S/N will give you, and Savage doesn't support firearms made before Nov. 1, 1995 so they likely won't be able to tell you anything additional.

    1989 was the beginning of the rebuild while under bankruptcy protection so very few models were offered. All the bolt actions were Model 110's that year and the action screw spacing should match that for a long-action as everything was built on long-actions during this period.

    110G = wood stock, iron sights, drilled for scope mounts
    110GX = wood stock, no iron sights, integral scope mounts (cast receiver)
    110F = synthetic stock, iron sights, drilled for scope mounts
    110FX = synthetic stock, no iron sights, integral scope mounts (case receiver)
    110B = brown laminate stock, iron sights, drilled for scope mounts
    110GV = wood stock, heavy barrel, no iron sights, drilled for scope mounts (varmint calibers only)
