Welcome aboard
Hello,
Residing in NW VA (near Front Royal, VA). Avid shooter. Love guns. Have owned several Savage firearms. (Sold All except two.) I kept a Savage 10FP 20" HB in .308 and a Savage MKII FV-SR .22lr. Both beautifully shooting rifles. I recently purchased a Savage 10T-SR (Cabela's exclusive) in .300wm. Topped it with a Sig Sauer Kilo2400 6.5-20X52mm BDX combo. Looking forward to shooting it past 1,000 yds. Avid reloader. Used to hunt (progressed to bowhunting before I stopped).
I have a forever invitation to hunt wapiti in Idaho on private land and intended to bow hunt when I finally do go out. But as a backup, this .300wm will tag along just in case.
I won't post much (if at all). I prefer to look (read), listen and learn. I do better with my eyes and ears open and my mouth closed.
Sidenote: I will be looking to get into some type of BEGINNER long range shooting or competition for fun and learning.
Thanks!

Welcome from a fellow Northern Virginian, although I am not as far west as you are.
But my son has property on the north fork Shenandoah river near you.
I also have a 10 FP in .308 but mine has a 24 inch barrel. I wore it out on the range after shooting over 6500 rounds through it.
I had the barrel replaced by Savage and they did a great job of returning it to me with a more accurate fluted target barrel that is suppressor ready.
I am an avid reloader having just past the 45,000 reload mark over 8 1/2 years - over 15,000 in .308 caliber for 4 rifles.
If you want to interchange loads for your .308, feel free to message me.
