Making a list and checking it twice.

I made a list of all the things that are more annoying than getting a case stuck in your full length sizing die:

I think that hits all the high points.

I managed to get it unstuck. It was a .223 case that I didn't wedge in too tightly, having learned my lesson early on with a .30-06 case that was so tightly bound I had to buy a new die from the manufacturer. (Long story, but I digress.) I had decent success with the RCBS extractor kit that I originally bought when I attempted to remove the .30-06 case. By "decent," I mean that I removed the case but bent the decapper pin in the process. Since I now consider myself an expert on the process, I thought I would share a few tips:

    1. Do not, under any circumstances, get a case stuck in a full-length sizing die.

#2. Use enough lube so #1 doesn't happen! Seriously, I've been there on a number of occassions and it's a PIA to fix.

I'm switching to motor oil. 5W-20, synthetic.
