    Barrel Removal

Well I was trying to remove the barrel on my stainless model 16. I mounted the barrel in a wheeler barrel vice and was able to get the barrel nut loose very easily and the recoil lug came loose easily. However , I cant seem to unscrew the action . I don't have an action wrench and I have only supplied hand pressure. Any suggestions on getting it to budge.

Apply some penetrant and put a length of wood through the ejection port/magazine slot and gently try to get it off.

Have you removed the scope base? Front screw could be bindind.

If the front scope mount screw is removed and you still can't spin off the action, carefully apply some heat from a propane torch. I found locktite was used on one barrel from the factory.

You will probably also find "grit" in the threads from the blasting operation. Use plenty of penetrating lube while unscrewing it and be prepared to stop and back up if it starts to lock up.
Banning a gun will not solve what is a mental health crisis inflamed by incendiary rhetoric on social and television media. The first amendment in this case is less precious and more likely the causal factor than the second amendment.

All great advice above. I've used all those techniques. They work.

Careful putting anything through the action and turning it. That's a good way to twist an action into useless scrap. An action wrench is waaaay cheaper than an action.
