    Savage 10T ?

Is the barrel on the 10T 308 a large or small shank? I have 24 inch bull barrel now but have been wanting to change it out for a threaded and fluted barrel. Found someone selling a 24 inch fluted barrel removed from a savage stealth 308 that has not been fired at all for $200 bucks. His is large shank. Tried looking up specs with my google fu but no luck finding that information. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

My 10TR is a small shank.
I thought only the magnums were large shank.

I like DIY. The barrel nut just makes sense. -PB

Thought that to but the stealth 308 isn’t a magnum and he said that’s what came off. Figured be a good time to learn to swap out barrels, this being my 1st.

I had it wrong on his rifle. His is a ashbury. Looked up the specs, sure enough, Heavy Magnam BA Varmint barrel.

Came across a nice deal on a Savage 10 FCP-SR at local gun shop when I went to get primers. Looked at the stealth but wasn't fond of the chassis. They knocked off $125 bucks to unload it for the newer models. Shorter barrel will work for my incoming suppressor. Trying to sell the 10T locally now.
