    Taking Possession of a 99

Thank y'all for this forum! I'm a regular at the Rossi Rifleman board, and I'm hoping this one is as friendly and knowledgeable. My first rifle was a Model 24, and I'm about to take possession of a Model 99 from my old home state of Michigan. I've always had a hankering for one, and this one presented itself cheap. I did a lot of hunting and shooting as a kid, but had a long dry spell until about five years ago. A friend got me into competitive pistol shooting and then pig hunting, and I moved to a place that happened to have a convenient outdoor range. This 99 is going to be a bit of a project, and this looks like the place to share pictures and ask for sage advice. Please bear with me as I learn my way around the board.

Welcome. Wish my next project was a 99. Love them. Just be sure and watch the stock where the metal tang meets the wood. They are prone to crack there if there is not the right clearance or the stock swells in high humidity.
