    Headspace

    So here's what I did:

    1. My Go Gauge is a Clymer and I put it in my RCBS Precision Mic and it indicated almost exactly on zero.
    2. I put this in my chamber added a dab of Lubriplate to the threads and tightened the barrel against it ever so slightly.
    3. I then tightened the barrel nut to 50 ft/lbs.
    4. I checked and my bolt closes on the Go Gauge without any resistance.
    5. Next I added two pieces of scotch tape to the Go Gauge and checked it again with the Precision Mic. I got a reading about 0.0035" more than without the tape.
    6. I put the taped gauge back in the chamber and the bolt will no longer close.

I take it I'm now good to go?

I think you're good to go.

That's how I did my 22-250 and my 6mmBR. A good tight headspace, or so I thought. Now I am beginning to re-think my ideas about which is better; a minimum size chamber, or a longer one (more headspace).

Stretching out the brass a bit will increase internal capacity, but may slightly shorten case life. As long as your dies are set up to only work the brass enough to chamber, I don't see an issue with a longer chamber headspace. Do you?

Maybe some one with more experience will chime in and add some wisdom.
Banning a gun will not solve what is a mental health crisis inflamed by incendiary rhetoric on social and television media. The first amendment in this case is less precious and more likely the causal factor than the second amendment.

I'd think you'd be fine as long as it isn't too long (read excessive). After the first shot and the brass is fitting the chamber it's just a matter of setting your dies to fit your fired brass.
The amount of case capacity you would gain from a bit more headspace would be negligible however.

Youre good to go. Thats how I do it only difference is that I use 1 piece of tape. If I remember right the No-go is .004 difference, so you're just a smidge tighter than standard which is good in my opinion. In my mind tighter headspace is better but Ive got no evidence to prove it. Makes sense due to less brass movement but....
Good luck with the build! Can't wait to see how it shoots

Watch What Kind of Tape you use. measure it.

    Freezer tape around .009,

    scotch tape is .003

You are right in the difference is actually .004 between go and no go.

Field Reject is .006 past the No Go.

Freezer tape I think is more .009,

    scotch tape is like .003
That's true....I should've said that. I took my tape to work and measured it to be sure. Mine was .002
