...gardenspot of the desert SW.

I'm 73 this month and have been shooting and reloading for more than 50 years. I started with rifles, then shotguns, then pistols, and starting last year rifles again. I now have three surplus UBRs*, one more in 6X45mm coming and that I hope is more accurate than the first three, and for a month a Savage model 10 Predator Hunter Max 1 in 6.5 Creedmoor that I MAY keep. Shooting the 10 has rekindled my interest in benchrest shooting so I just ordered a model 12 Benchrest in 6.5-284, the same caliber as my 2006-7 BR rifle.

FWIW, I shot this rifle really well ONE day in '07, winning 3 of 4 trophes awarded in Light and Unlimited classes with, among others, a 5-shot, 1000-yard group of 4-9/16" and a 10-shot group of 7-odd inches. It was all downhill from there, and I sold it all in '07.

Walked into Bruno's Shooters' Supply today for some Lapua bullets and bought a Nightforce SHV 5-20X56X30mm! How's that for buying up? (Have a Vortex 6.5-20X50X30mm on the model 10 now, but I just couldn't resist the great price from young Mr. Bruno.)

We'll see how all this goes.
