Here are some photos of the bolt, closed & open.
You can see that the bolt is straight and barely clears the 1/2" older Weaver scope tube on it now.
I'm looking at the Weaver #2 side mount base and 1" ring mount for it. I am bidding on a set now. We will see if I win the bids.

One thing that drove me to buy this old Savage was the feel of the stock as you handle it. Even though it is a 22, the full wood stock makes this feel like a full size center fire rifle. It feels solid.

The mount from havlinsales.com that is for a Mossberg looks promising. I measured the distance on the Savage and it is 1 5/8" center also, like the Mossberg mount.

Shelbyfan can you post photos of your Model 4 with emphasis on the mount and scope on this thread.
