Savage model 30 light primer hits sometimes

Sometimes my Savage model 30 fires then I get a light hit and no fire. Is this a headspace problem or could it be something else ? I have cleaned it and replaced the hammer spring.

Is your primer backing out on fired casings?

I wouldn't think it was a head space issue, maybe your firing pin itself is worn down.

Why doesn't it misfire all the time then ? The firing pin protrusion looks good.
