New Bolt head for the .540 size. Maybe magazine(s) or modify the feed lips. And tools, such as action wrench, barrel nut wrench, go/no-go gauges, barrel vice maybe.
I bought my wife a Savage Lady Hunter in 30-06 for Christmas a couple of years back and was wondering if and or how hard it would be to convert it to 300 Win Mag. I also have a Weather Warrior 116 I am wanting to do the same thing too.

Perhaps a new barrel chambered in 300 Win Mag.
Yep, bolt heads and barrels is the minimum. You might get the magazines work with the magnums, but it's the easiest thing to swap.

They have you squared away, the only other thing I will add is perhaps a nut.
I've changed piles of Savage barrels. Sometimes the nut is easy enough to loosen, sometimes I have had to cut them off. Also, and this is VERY important; take off ALL scope mounting equip!! I have joined in the group that said, "Naw my scope bases aren't bottomed, this is no problem".... Ask me now how many action threads I have ruined because of that little statement.....
I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.
Not sure I would inflict a 300 WM on anyone let alone a woman.
New Heavy Hunter or Varmint profile 30-06 barrel would be nice for her.
Maybe you as well.
You can hand load a 30-06 to very close to 300 WM.
