    303 savage

I'm not really into guns but my brother left me an old model 99 savage in the 303 caliber.he informed me that the barrel is "shot out". I do not wish to have the barrel replaced, so I'm wondering if it's possible to have it re-bored and chambered to a different caliber, something like a 32 or 35 caliber. The only thing I have done is clean the barrel and (according to a friend) since the brush does not turn and follow the grooves that confirms that the barrel grooves are not good. Any information or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
