what are you using it for ? varmints ? shooting mostly prone or off of a bench ?
Putting a 22-250 AI together and can't decide on length and weight or contour. Looking at a Shelin 1 to 8 or 9 twist.
Considering a # 4 or 5 in 22 or 23 inch length. Using a Stevens action and Boyd laminated stock. Don't want it to be too heavy but I would like to have enough diameter size to give it some rigidity. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Coyotes, crows, targets, prairie dogs.
Matching the Savage factory Varmint contour may mean less sanding on the stock as the stock will already be close to the factory Savage barrels. I have found that when I call a barrel manufacturer and they ask what contour I want, I can tell them to match the factory contour and they already have the specs.
Good point. Will do. Thanks. Al
