i just put a boyds on my axis 22-250. shot n1ce groups prior to the new stock but now its putting three shots touching each other at 100. i was looking at either the axis .308 hb or the 11vt for my next purchase.
Picked up an Axis II HB in .308 Friday from Dicks. Rifle came with the Weaver Kaspa 3-9x40 for under $400. I got the chance to put some rounds down range today and I can't believe how well this thing shoots. I did some adjusting to the trigger and have it shooting about sub 2" groups with Federal 150 grain factory loads. I am definitely wanting to upgrade the stock and would love some suggestions. I've checked Boyd's and MDT but wanted some input before making any changes. Thanks in advance.

It was a toss-up for me but I chose the lighter and less expensive Axis. Which stock did you go with? I'm looking at the Varminter.
i went with the prairie hunter. i felt like the varmiter would look like to much stock for a smaller caliber 22-250.
I'm having some questions trying to figure out Boyd's site and can't get much help when I call. I'm guessing I'll need to go with the short action/bull barrel stock make sure it fits mine? Savage Axis II BH right hand. I'm like the forest camo.
I put mine in the Boyd's lightweight thumb hole stock.
Don't want to beat the proverbial dead horse here but when did you guys order your Boyds and how long did it take to get to you? I'm considering ordering from Boyds and asking because they seem to have a poor rep regarding delivery when promised and lack of customer service: looking for current info on the company.
thanks, Brian
Have ordered quite a few and they usually run 6-8 weeks.
mine took 3 weeks.
kentgoldings. cool name. got any homebrew you wanna share?
Hey VA Farmer. So where is central VA for you? I'm in the valley. I have an Edge in 7mm-08. Got it soon after they came out. What I did while waiting for the cash to put into a Boyd's was filled the the plastic with Rocktite. Well instead of getting the Boyd's I saved a little more and got an 11Vt .223 on a Black Friday sale and filled that sucker with Rocktite also. The 7-08 will routinely do 5/8" at 100 yds and on a good day less then 1/2" (my good days"). It has a Rifle basix installed which isn't a bad trigger but sometimes I wish I hadn't giving the original I worked up to my buddy for his axis. The 11VT is stock except for the Rocktite and can do 3/8" normally and down to 1/4" when I'm in the zone. All with hand loads and off bags not bipods, not sure that makes a difference. I just got a 12 FV in .204 I haven't had out yet and not sure what route to take with it until I shoot it. I do love the look of the Boyd's and may end up asking Santa for one (or two) just for the looks and who knows, they may tighten the groups even more? So all that just to suggest trying Rocktite while you wait for your new wood stock to come.
I'm just south of Lynchburg myself. You in the Roanoke Valley area or Shenandoah Valley? I'll check into doing the stock mod until I can choose which stock I want from Boyd's.
I added on the extras. Shiny finish, checkering, black tips, and white line spacers. Took over a month, sent wrong one, another month, got the right one. Still happy and would buy from them again.
You know what I like best about people? Their dogs.
Took 3 weeks to get mine from Boyds. Put it on a 783 Remington I put a Shilen Match barrel on.
