    Quest for you fellas

I'm having a small issue with brass not ejecting at all. Upon inspection of the bolt, I noticed that the ejector is jammed inside the bolt head. I know I can replace the ejector for ~20 from here: http://www.gunshack.com/savage-bolt-...s-kit-for-sale

The issue is the pin. What tool do you guys use to get the pin out that holds the ejector in?

    Thanks,

I press the ejector in and drive out the pin with a another pin slightly smaller than the hole and about 1/2 - 3/4 inch long. I think I cut it from an allen wrench. Drive it thru with a few good taps of a light hammer. Once it's protruding a good ways, grab it with a needle nose plyers and pull it out the rest of the way. Then pull the other pin out.

I do pretty much the same as Foxx, but I use a vise rather than a hammer. I also place the entire bolt head inside of a ziplock bag to eliminate any chance of flying parts.

I clipped off the point on a wire brad (small finish nail) using wire cutters and filed the rough edge down into a rounded shape. Tapped it gently with a small finish hammer. Out it comes. Doing it in a zip lock bag is brilliant!

A 1/16 drive pin punch works beautifully.

The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.

Thanks for the tip. I noticed that Sears has one in stock. I'll go there tomorrow after work and see if it will work. I never realized that the Savage bolt was that simple to take apart. Thanks youtube lol. I can learn anything on there lol.
