    EGW 20 moa base MidwayUSA compatibility issue

    ok, have i gone mad??? Please Have a look at this;

    When i put 'egw 20 moa axis' in Midway's search bar i got these results

    https://www.midwayusa.com/s?userSear...gw+20+moa+axis

    1
    EGW 1-Piece Picatinny-Style 20 MOA Elevated Base Savage 10 Through 16 Round Rear, Axis Action Matte

    2
    EGW 1-Piece Picatinny-Style 20 MOA Elevated Base Savage 110 Through 116 Round Rear, Axis Long Action Matte

    EGW 1-Piece Picatinny-Style 20 MOA Elevated Base Savage Axis, Edge Matte
    First i ordered number 1 for my 223 axis, since under their specifications tab it said ;

    compatible with
    Compatible With Savage
    • 10 Short Action 4.275" Spacing
    • 10 Short Action 4.4" Spacing
    • 10FC
    • 10GC
    • 11
    • 116C
    • 11FC
    • 11GC
    • 12
    • 14
    • 16
    • 16C
    • Axis Long Action
    • Axis Short Action

    And i could use some extra clearance, hence the choice for the elevated model.

    I received it, and oops, base was too short, screw holes did not line up. Got on their chat program, tried to explain what i had going on here but the first rep was just blunt, and told me to return it on my dime.

    Ok.. i then called, rep told me they would look into it since it should not state that it's compatible when it's not, and told me to order number 2, for the long action.

    Did that, paid for return shipping and on top of that for shipping the replacment to me again. Got it today and sure enough, this one is too long, even though they also have it advertised as being 'axis compatible' under their specifications tab!!!

    I went to the EGW website and they don't even show an elevated 20 moa base for the Axis, just a 20 moa base, but not elevated. So am I dumb or is the problem at Midway??

    Thanks for the input.

    I notified Midway about this months ago, and I was pretty much told they only take product info correction from manufacturer representatives. I guess that makes sense, but it is a pretty egregious error to state any single piece scope mount designed for the Axis will fit any other Savages. The only 20 MOA rail EGW makes for the Axis is this one and its silver brethren.

    I get the 20MOA, but why do you need an "elevated" base when you can just use taller rings?
    What am I missing?

    I just put the EGW 20 moa base on my Axis in 6.5 CM and it was a perfect fit. I'm not sure why they have an elevated base listed for the Axis.
