    PT&G bolt head

What performance difference can I expect after changing stock Savage bolt head with a PT&G bolt head? Just curious if it is an upgrade to consider?

PTG bolt heads are made for the .145" dia. firing pin. Using the .098" dia. firing pin can cause ignition & accuracy problems.

What size firing pin do new Model 10s come with? I just installed a PTG PPC bolt head on a .308 bolt head, but haven't switched barrels yet, so don't know how it's going to work.

As of 2001 .095" where it passes though bolthead retaining pin and the shaft of the bolthead to the vent.

I changed a model 12 LRPV from the factory 378 to a PT&G 473 when I rebarreled to 6BR. I would not expect any change in performance due to the "floating" bolt head design.
