What performance difference can I expect after changing stock Savage bolt head with a PT&G bolt head? Just curious if it is an upgrade to consider?

The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
And a thinner wallet!
Oz never gave nothing to the Tin Man, that he didn't already have.
PTG bolt heads are made for the .145" dia. firing pin. Using the .098" dia. firing pin can cause ignition & accuracy problems.
Do you have calipers mikgarus?
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
I got one to help a cratered primer issue.
Fixed it 100%
Anybody know the part number for the .145" firing pin?
That part has been discontinued.

What diameter did the older actions use? IE Flat backs

I changed a model 12 LRPV from the factory 378 to a PT&G 473 when I rebarreled to 6BR. I would not expect any change in performance due to the "floating" bolt head design.
