For my hs stock I needed about 3/4-1" height. I took a block of wood and sanded the bottom with sandpaper on a dowel, rounds out to conform nicely to stock. Then sanded the top so it was nicely rounded off and the height I needed. Then drill 2 holes through block and the stock. Stuck 2 small nails in holed (keeps block from sliding). Colored front and back of block with black sharpie. Then I put a Blackhawk stock pack (with zipper pouch and 5 round ammo holder) over it. Very solid and looks great because the only place you can see the wood is
From the back and it's black in color anyways.
Very cheap and looks just as good as Karsten and other option that you'd cover if you would use a pack anyways, as I do
