Choate 25-06-10 SA "Drop Box Mag" Tactical Stock & Mod 10 FCP-K .308 Win

Has anybody tried a Choate 25-06-01 SA "Drop Box Mag" Tactical Stock on a Mod 10 FCP-K .308 Win ? I’m finding that the FCP-K (w/ trigger guard bolt release) dose not just take all the “drop in” items out there.

I just installed one on my rifle you will need to trim around the inlet for the trigger guard slittly. I used a dremel to shave it down. The bottom metal went in fine but the trigger guard was tight.

I don't see a 25-06-10 on their site, but if you are talking about the 25-06-12 then it will fit without "modification", but may require some slight trimming in the well for the trigger guard. Its not because it wasn't intended to fit, but rather just a bad mould. I had that stock.
IMO, save your pennies and get the custom tactical version. I believe it is #26-06-12 - the one for the short action stagger feed. It is the stock I purchased for my FCP-K and was a 'drop-in' fit. You will benefit greatly from the adjustable cheek and butt, especially if you shoot prone.
Also, pay no attention to the 4.275" action spacing. Its wrong. Its 4.410", or thereabouts.

Yeah, same deal. I still strongly recommend the custom tactical. Talk to Fred at choate direct about it to make sure you get the right one if you do go that route. Like I said, the website says 4.275" action spacing but there are four different versions for the savage short action on their website. I think the one you need is the model 10 short action. All I know is my custom tactical was a bolt on fit, more so than the standard tactical, and I make use of the adjustabiliy of it all the time.
