Are you sure it's an actual RS?
A lot of guys think they have an RS but 95% of the time it turns out they don't.
Serial number? Does it have flat bottom sling studs?
Just because it wears. A Redfield 70 LH or a Lyman 30 1/2 doesn't make it an RS.
I have resently obtained a 99RS I love the look of these old rifles. My 99RS has the buttstock cut and a red head recoil pad added a long time ago, done well, but I would like return the stock to as close to orginal as I can. Any idea where I can get proper buttstock and buttplate. I have looked on eBay but no stocks for this version.

Savage- "never say never".
Yes my 99 has flat bottom sling studs, non-grooved beavertail forend, factory d&t,savage stamps left side of receiver, serial #852XX. I believe this is an RS, could be someONE trying to pass off a RS.
You raised a couple flags already.
The forearm should have two grooves on the end, not non-grooved. By factory D&T do you mean for a tang sight or a scope? They weren't D&T by the factory for scopes. Also, your serial number is way out of range for an RS.
