    ID This Bullet

Anyone know what brand these bullets are, they are 30 cal 168gr HP with a flat base, I don't know if they came this color or were coated they were in a box of miss stuff that I bought.

Dean was it already loaded when you found it? Is that a brass or nickle coated case? Have to go back and look at the spec sheet but it might be a Dummy round or the bullet out of one. I think i read they were blue in a nickle case. Could also be one of David Tubbs fire lapping bullets.

Looks like the old coated Barnes bullets. Believe those were called XLC.
I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.

The xlc is no longer made. If you had good luck with them try the new LRX. I believe you will be pretty happy with the new slugs. Part of the reason for the coating was to try and mitigate some chamber pressure in the earlier x bullets. Most of that has been solved with the "grooves" being cut into the new x bullet design. I live about 20 minutes away from the Barnes factory but never shot many of their slugs until the LRX came out.
