    New to Savage from KY

A few month back I purchased a Savage 340 in 30-30. It's the only Savage I have ever owned, and I've been a gun nut since the late 60's, when I got my first BB gun. I'm mostly a lever gun guy when it comes to long guns, which is why I jumped on this 340 when it became available, it shoots 30-30 ammo! And I have a lot of that around. I've always been curious about lighter, pointed bullets for a 30-30, but you know how it is with a tube fed gun and pointed bullets.

I'm going to go poke around this site and see what's here to learn, and I imagine there's a lot! Oh, by the way, this 340 has a scope mount on it that's in poor condition, (rust speckles, strip out threads) and I need to find another. I would also be interested in finding a peep sight for it, if anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. [IMG][/IMG]
