It looks like a nice system. I've used the bullseye camera system now for about 3-4 months and it has really changed the effectiveness of our long range practice. No more riding back and forth and wasted ammo wondering where you hit and where your shooting partner hit... The app allows you to mark your shots and you can really get about 2 big targets up in front of that camera such that you and your shooting partner are shooting at two different targets but can use the same camera. We each have our own tablet that we connect to the wifi signal with and you kinda have to shoot back and forth. A camera system is a must have IMO, The bullseye worked out to 1500 for us but wouldn't quite make it to the mile as advertised and we had straight line open conditions...
I'm interested to hear more about how this system works out for you.. Keep us posted..
Here is a screenshot of some 1000 yard shooting we did last week. I was marking my 10 shot string with yelllow markers...

What is the power of your transmitter in mw?
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.

Looking forward to the final setup and footage from it. Please keep this updated. I've wanted to build a target cam setup for a while now.

I'm going to try and pick up a wrecked drone, they have mile video capabilities, That would be a compact package. In mean time I'm following your progress.

The drones work well for examining targets at long distances. I've used mine so far out to 2000 yards. The problem with wrecked ones, is usually the camera is the part that's damaged, and they're expensive to repair. Finding a wrecked one with a good camera is tough because the bidding wars usually make them anything but inexpensive. DJI's lightbridge on the Phantom 3 Advanced/Pro works well all the way out to at least 2 1/2 miles, sending realtime video from camera to phone/tablet without any issues. Far better than wifi, since there's no intermediate range equipment required.

For 350 there is a a system available already ready to go without any issues. I think it's good to a mile. Waterproof container and you use your tablet of cell phone to spot thru Bluetooth.
And I think it's 350 Canadian. So it'll be a bit cheaper in America
Some guys are getting their radio operators license to use for long rang POV from what my boy tells me.

Op, good set up.
I have a simpler setup:
1. $20 prepaid pda phone (like moto sprint phone at bb)
2. old router
3. IP Camera free app on both new phone and your phone.
you can run the ip camera phone on the cheap phone and broadcast the picture over WIFI, but the range is not that great for the built in phone antenna.
Connect camera phone to wifi setup on router.
and then watch pic from laptop or your own phone.
No cellphone signal needed, just use line of sight to connect to wifi, get directional antenna if signal is weak.
I have not figured out the power supply yet, I have a few agm 12 v batt I use for fishing that I might use.

Agree, wifi range is limited unless one uses a powered directional antenna.
