Savage 110 BA /110 FCP HS Precision 338 Lapua and Sellier & Bellot ammo

Is anyone using the Sellier & Bellot 338 Lapua ammo in their 110 BA or 110 FCP HS Precision

And do or don't you like it ?

    How does it shoot ?

What grouping do you get ?

I want to say Nutnfancy used it when he did a review of the rifle.

They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

I noticed it before your post and asked the same question to Nutfancy but no reply received . . .

It's been a while since I watched the review. I have heard of others on this site complaining that the 338lm from Savage seems to throw the 3rd shot. I don't have a 338lm and have no plans on owning one. I just don't have the distance where I live to justify it.

If you aren't satisfied with the precision you're getting from your rifle, thread on a new one. Fairly easy to do with the right tools.

I am lucky to have a playground where I can shoot 2000+ yards not that far
    Otherwise I wouldn't buy a 338 Lapua

Hopefully I don't have the 3rd round flyer
If I do Bartlein will fix it with a 32 or 33 inch barrel !

Yup I still own it, rebarreled with a 30" Shilen select match. Just got it back not to long ago.
Had it to 300 yards. Shot 7 different loads. Couple under 1/2 moa. Need to take it to 500 now. I can finally drive to my long range spot to do that (snow/mud finally gone)

As listed before I guess I am going for a Bartlein . . . if they are in stock
Otherwise I might be a Shilen like yours

What scope do you have mounted ?

    And I suppose you reload . . . ?

Ever used any factory ammo and what where the results ?

I cannot recommend shooting a .338 Lapua to any reasonable person without reloading for it... From both a cost and accuracy standpoint.

Well I am reasonable so I better get into reloading 😉

Finally that's what all my shooting buddies tell me to do

Sightron SIII. Yes I reload. Never shot factory rounds through it. I reload for $1.02 a round.

Swfa should do you well to. A buddy of mine has one on a 300 win mag. Has held up well. I run sightron on all my LR rigs. I've tried several vipers HS/PST in past and wouldn't trust that on this rifle. My 308 toasted the internal adjustments for the elevation in less than 100 rounds. My lapua would've done it just mounting the scope to it lol

Gonna get a SWFA 16x42 and see how that goes

Gonna start shooting matches next month at 2080 yards
