    savage stocks

i had a savage model 12 short action, that i had a left hand laminate stock made.
got rid of the rifle and was wondering if a savage model 11 short action would fit in the stock?the model 12 had the accutrigger, the model 11 does not

    Re: savage stocks

Savage changed the short action magazines and screw spacing a few years back.

The old ones are called staggered feed and have a spacing of 4.275". The magazine is attached to the action.

The new ones are called center feed, have a spacing of 4.400 and the magazine is attached to the stock.

Stocks are not interchangeable between the two types of short actions. You'll need to measure the screw spacing to know if that stock will work with that action. Be careful measuring - that's only 1/8" difference.

    Good luck,
